Living with a feline friend is nothing short of ameowzing, especially when they bring in their entire Very Cat selves out.

Bringing a cat home is a life-changing experience. First-time cat pawrents might not know it, but once they get that adopted cat through the door, they instantly win a lifetime of love, snuggles, laughter, and the best kind of friendship they could ever wish for. Cats are truly such good friends to their humans, it's surprising that only dogs come up with some people who talk about "a man's best friend". Cats should be there, too. We have no doubt about it.

But friendship with a cat is special in its own way. It doesn't quite look the same as the friendship of a dog or another human. Having a cat as a BFF also means you live under the rule of a feline overlord, ruling your house like the king or queen they actually are. Think about it - you adore them like a medieval king, you give them treats like you pay tithe, and you pander to their every need. You even invent songs about them, like a bard spreading the good word through the kingdom's taverns.

But despite this very strange (but loving) relationship we have with our cats, we would never trade it for the world. Because our cats are our world. This is how much they mean to us. And if you have never raised a cat child before, we wholly recommend you do. Go to the shelter that's closest to you and adopt yourself a best friend / house meownarch.

We think there's a direct correlation between the fact that we only have two hands and the fact that we don't have more cats than we do. Because, if we're really honest with ourselves - if we have extra hands, they'd primarily be used to take care of more cats. It could be such a blissful existence… but, alas, we have only two hands.
